Kennel Training
Dogs are naturally den animals and most enjoy being in small, enclosed places. A crate can provide dogs with a feeling of security, and when trained to use them from an early age, crates can help calm anxiety.
Leash Pulling
Dogs don’t just innately know how to walk politely on a leash, this is something that needs to be trained. It’s an important skill to teach, and one you’ll value every time you take your dog out for a walk.

STAR Puppy
Classes are a 2 week board and train program. This STAR class is for puppies 14 weeks to under 5 months old. It includes, sit, down and leash walking, socialization in public places and around other animals.

Basic Obedience
This is a boot camp program to jump start your dog’s training. It’s 1 on 1 with your dog daily. This class is normally for dogs a minimum of 5 months old and up. Limited availability, great for big or dominant dogs with unruly behaviors. A training certificate will be awarded at the end of the training program.

Advanced Obedience
Off Leash boot camp program that includes all the same basic obedience cues except done off-leash. We include a few additional cues with hand signals and collar conditioning. This class is great for those wanting to go into sport, competition obedience or just extra control of the dog in or around public and home.

Do I get to choose the package I want for my dog?
Short answer, no. We encourage our clients to let our certified staff guide them to the service package that is right for their dog.

Yes! At La Fundación K-9 Academy we ensure that all of our trainers are certified in-house to the highest industry standard for pet dog trainers. In fact, our owner/lead trainer, Richard, has even facilitated training for groomers, shelter staff, veterinary staff, animal control officers, and other industry professionals. Rest assured, your dog is in safe, certified hands with us!

How old must my puppy be to begin training?
We have found that training is most effective when a puppy has had a little time to mature as well as ample time to bond with their new family. This consideration takes care of itself in private in-home training. Listed below is the earliest age for a pup to start each of these packages:
- Star Puppy 12 weeks
- Basic Obedience 5 months
- Advanced Obedience 7 months
- Personal Protection (age varies)
Will I get updates while my dog is away?
Yes! La Fundación K-9 Academy's trainers are expert communicators and pride themselves on keeping you in the loop! Expect to receive regular video and picture updates, at most every 4 days along the way!
