La Fundación K-9 Academy, provides top quality personal protection dogs to protect your entire family. A protection dog, while obedient guardians, are also social and family oriented. Our Level 1 protection dog training procedures ensure all of our dogs are completely trained in on-leash obedience for total control. In addition to obedience training, these dogs are trained and socialized to live comfortably in your home.
Personal protection dogs are trained at various levels for your home or business. We come to your home or place of business and work with you to ensure that you are comfortable working and living with your new protection dog.

Level 2
About
Level 2 focus on personal & Family Protection. At this stage dogs are trained to have all level one commands for the alert bark, standing between you and any threat, and Level 2 protection dogs have also been trained to fully commit and apprehend the subject if needed.
Level 2 dogs will engage in a bark, bark and hold or commit to a bite if that extreme need arises. They understand how to engage regardless of threat, they are trained to release the bite on command. Furthermore, they can guard the handler on and off leash 360 degrees with multiple positioning commands.

About
Level 3 Business Protection Dogs. This includes all the training from level 1 and level 2. But they are also trained to commit to the highest level of guarding and defense regardless of being on or off leash, environment, they can be deployed to pursue and apprehend, and they are dogs that will likely risk their own life to ensure the safety of their person or family.
Level 3 protection dogs are also trained in room searches, perimeter. Business Protection dogs are for those seeking the highest level of training and protection to keep themselves, their family, their property, or business safe. This training offer the most elite level of security all while being incredibly obedience, responsive and loving companions.

Protection Dogs Available
Protection Dogs are currently on sale. Some of our dogs are ready to leave us for a new home as ‘fully fledged’ and highly trained protection dogs. Others are at various stages in the training process, whether that is obedience training for the puppies or advanced protection work for more mature dogs. We are confident that all our dogs for sale will succeed in becoming ultimate protectors – for both yourself and for your family.
Dogs are sold on a first come first serve basis. Customized options and custom dogs available. Payment plans available too.
Upon Arrival
- Bring copy of vaccination record (Must include 4 boosters)
- Dog's food to last 4-6 weeks (Chewy.com deliveries will be acceptable)
- 50% of training cost is due at drop off
Copy of dog's registration papers (not mandatory) - Pick ups/drop off's scheduled OUTSIDE of BUSINESS HOURS on WEEKDAYS will be charged an additional $50 for the trainers attending. Pick ups/drop off's on WEEKENDS will be charged additional $100

Faq
Do I get to choose the package I want for my dog?
Short answer, no. We encourage our clients to let our certified staff guide them to the service package that is right for their dog.
Are you going to hurt my dog while training?
Not at all! Our proprietary gentle and balanced training method uses the least restrictive environment possible. Our method balances reward and gentle consequence to its best advantage to achieve optimal results you can trust! We create dogs that are excited to work for you, rather than scared not to
Are your trainers certified?
Yes! At La Fundación K-9 Academy we ensure that all of our trainers are certified in-house to the highest industry standard for pet dog trainers. In fact, our owner/lead trainer, Richard, has even facilitated training for groomers, shelter staff, veterinary staff, animal control officers, and other industry professionals. Rest assured, your dog is in safe, certified hands with us!

How old must my puppy be to begin training?
We have found that training is most effective when a puppy has had a little time to mature as well as ample time to bond with their new family. This consideration takes care of itself in private in-home training. Listed below is the earliest age for a pup to start each of these packages:
- Star Puppy 12 weeks
- Basic Obedience 5 months
- Advanced Obedience 7 months
- Personal Protection (age varies)
Will I get updates while my dog is away?
Yes! La Fundación K-9 Academy's trainers are expert communicators and pride themselves on keeping you in the loop! Expect to receive regular video and picture updates, at most every 4 days along the way!
