We take a lot of pride in having solid foundational dogs. We love to show them for confirmation and put in some working drills with them. When we work our dogs, we first focus on the health of the dog, then build solid obedience, and then introduce them into different “working” drills. We enjoy being able to check all boxes when it comes to staying true to the training standards.

We have a dedicated enclosed training field providing a safe area for our classes. We have fun classes to suit your need!

Richard DeBerry is what I would call a Dog Connoisseur. The wealth of knowledge he has is impressive and he cares for your dog as if it was his own. Sending my cane corso to LA Fundacion was one of my best decisions I’ve made with my dog. I couldn’t be more pleased with the training. Richard treated my dog like he was one of his own. Every step of the way I was sent videos and pictures of Groot’s training.Even when Groot left Richard called to check in to see if we needed anything and how the home training was coming along. Rich at La Fundacion K9 took care of my dog like he was his own, a 1 year old Presa (not your average animal). I signed up for the Basic Obedience 4 week course and he was even able to accommodate an extra week of boarding at the end with short notice. Rich sent me videos/pictures updates from the minute he received my dog. He trimmed him down into a lean tip top shape Presa and instilled a discipline in my dog Samson that will stay with him forever. I am very happy with the quality of training and especially communication as well as level of care Richard provided for my dog who’s like a son to me. On top of it all he customized a raw diet meal plan specifically for my dogs program and size. I got back a brand new, disciplined, shredded and happy sweet dog. Was truly incredible, the transformation. I highly recommend LaFundacionK9 as Rich goes above and beyond and his highly educated in several breeds of dogs and successful training methods.

Short answer, no. We encourage our clients to let our certified staff guide them to the service package that is right for their dog.

Not at all! Our proprietary gentle and balanced training method uses the least restrictive environment possible. Our method balances reward and gentle consequence to its best advantage to achieve optimal results you can trust! We create dogs that are excited to work for you, rather than scared not to
Are your trainers certified?
Yes! At La Fundación K-9 Academy we ensure that all of our trainers are certified in-house to the highest industry standard for pet dog trainers. In fact, our owner/lead trainer, Richard, has even facilitated training for groomers, shelter staff, veterinary staff, animal control officers, and other industry professionals. Rest assured, your dog is in safe, certified hands with us!

How old must my puppy be to begin training?
We have found that training is most effective when a puppy has had a little time to mature as well as ample time to bond with their new family. This consideration takes care of itself in private in-home training. Listed below is the earliest age for a pup to start each of these packages:
- Star Puppy 12 weeks
- Basic Obedience 5 months
- Advanced Obedience 7 months
- Personal Protection (age varies)
Will I get updates while my dog is away?
Yes! La Fundación K-9 Academy's trainers are expert communicators and pride themselves on keeping you in the loop! Expect to receive regular video and picture updates, at most every 4 days along the way!
